These eggplants thrive on water from the nearby Ishikawa River, a prestigious first-class river. Renowned for their impressive size, the eggplants, cultivated by Mr. Tanaka's farm in the Itamochi area, boast a dense and soft skin, offering an exceptional texture. The farm has a rich history dating back to the early Showa period (about 100 years ago), establishing itself as a prominent eggplant production hub in Osaka. The pristine water combined with ideal soil conditions contributes to the production of top-quality eggplants. The prime season for these eggplants spans from April to June, aligning with high demand, including interest from Tokyo's ryotei, or high-end traditional Japanese restaurants.
